Guy I know that lives in Detroit (still, who knows why, delusion I guess) had a brand new Ford . Within the first month of ownership all of his wheels were stolen 3 times, and the third time they tore up the interior trying unsuccessfully to steal the whole thing.

The fourth time they stole the whole thing. It was found a few days later stripped to the unibody.

Also good to know(?) about bullets/wind shields. Stollen / stripped is one thing, shooting someone for their car is another.

Yeah, specific make/model is a huge portion of it. The life expectancy of an Integra is measured in minutes.

There’s a whole system over there. Swipe the easy to fence parts a few times (because the insurance pays for new parts which you can steal again,) then take the whole thing, strip it, and dump the carcass in an abandoned lot or on a road.

There was a park I liked going to on the river, its pretty much abandoned. You used to be able to drive right up to the water (and slide around in the dirt) and there were just boats on the ground too.

Now they blocked it off and cleaned it up.

Oh, I have no reason to think they’re helping. They’re just not doing anything to stop it, either. They aren’t being paid enough to deal with all the shit they already have plus professional car thieves, and the city can’t afford to hire enough cops to effectively chase down the professionals.
